Pest Plant Control
• Hand weeding, brush cutting, flame weeding, and knapsack spraying in sensitive areas
• High volume spraying with spray tanker or boom for roadside work & high-density weed areas
• Control of woody weeds by cut and paint method or drill and fill method
• Tree felling and lopping up to 25 m
• Grooming of woody weeds on slopes and in riparian zones to prevent erosion
• Weed control on escarpments (working at heights) utilising ropes, harnesses, and secure anchor points
• Working with private landowners on Community grant projects such as the Land Protection Grant Scheme (Wyndham City Council), Conserving our Rural Environment (Hume City Council) and Stream Frontage Grant (Melbourne Water)
• Working in a variety of high conservation reserves – Pinkerton Forest (Melton Shire), Jawbone Reserve (Hobsons Bay), Monument Hill (Mitchell Shire), Werribee River, Grahams Reserve, Werribee South (Wyndham)
• Working on roadsides including design and implementation of traffic management plans for Geelong, Macedon, Mitchell, and Wyndham Councils
Ecological/Prescribed Burning
• Burning for fuel reduction/biomass removal, to enhance species diversity and weed control
• Development of burn plans/prescriptions and supporting documents
• Stakeholder consultation, resident letter drops, and permit applications
• Pre- and post-burn monitoring and aerial drone photography of burns
• Gas flaming to treat annual grass species in grasslands
• Support of traditional burning techniques
• Previous ecological burns conducted include Plains Grassland burning for Wyndham Council and Urban Open Grassy Woodland burns at Sunbury Fields development (Hume Council) and Woodlea Estate (Melton)
Revegetation
• Planting design and selection of appropriate plant species based on EVC and provenance
• Contract growing for projects including a collection of provenance seed. Current and previous clients include Brimbank, Hume, Moonee Valley, and Wyndham Councils
• Plant sourcing for projects, if we can’t grow it ourselves, we will source quality plants from an appropriate indigenous nursery
• Planting preparation including site weed control, mulching, and temporary fencing
• Planting including staking and guarding
• Post-planting maintenance – watering, weed control, and tree guard maintenance
• Direct seeding of grasses and herbaceous species
• Rabbit-proof fencing to enable plant establishment

Spider Excavator Services
Haas and Gray have the ability to utilise a Spider Excavator, using various attachments completing mulching, felling, lifting, and Landcare operation works that involve minimal ground disturbance, specifically in areas of Cultural/Heritage Sensitivity
